Open Enrollment Changes

The Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District’s Open Enrollment policy is changing
These changes apply only to students who are applying for new permits. Students who currently have approved permits, will not be affected by these changes. Please also note that this change in policy eliminates year-round Open Enrollment. The only opportunity for your student to transfer will be during the Open Enrollment period. On Monday, October 21, 2019, the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District, Board of Education directed staff to form a District Advisory Committee to study declining enrollment in the District and to make recommendations regarding re-alignment of school attendance boundaries and possibly school closures. Parent Institute for Quality Education

We are excited to announce that the Parent Institute for Quality Education will be coming to Hutchinson on Thursday, October 3rd. They will be talking about access to higher education for your middle school student. There will be two times available, 8:30 AM and 6:30 PM. Childcare will be offered. Birthday Announcements

ASB is offering families the opportunity to celebrate their student's birthday by displaying a birthday announcement on the school's marquee for a day or a week. See the attached flyer.

19-20 Online Registration

Online registration for NEW and RETURNING students begins on Monday, April 22nd.
Returning students: The Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District has moved to online registration/enrollment. This replaces updating your student’s emergency form on paper. You should have received a letter explaining the new system and providing you with a snapcode in order to access your student’s information. Please complete this online process no later than Wednesday, August 14th, this is very important so that we have the most current information on file for your student. If you do not have your student’s snapcode you may obtain it in the school office, it can’t be given over the phone or by email.

PowerSchool Parent Portal

You and your child can keep up to date with grades using our PowerSchool Parent Portal. This allows you to view each class's gradebook and ensure that your child knows his/her progress at any time! If you need your access code, please come to the main office and we will give you instructions to log in to PowerSchool Parent Portal (the link is on the bottom right hand side of this home page)
