Hutchinson Middle School
Curriculum: The goal of this course is to provide a comprehensive course focusing on Sixth Grade Common Core Math Standards. Topics will include: Ratios and Proportional Relationships, The Number System, Expressions and Equations, Geometry, and Statistics and Probability.
Educational Materials: Students are expected to have the following materials in class everyday:
Pen and Pencil Big Ideas Math Workbook Calendar Planner

Homework Policy: Homework is assigned every Monday and due on Friday. Homework assignments are designed to reinforce the basic skills needed for 6th grade math. Homework is acceptable when all problems have been attempted and all work is shown. Students are to access homework every Monday on Schoology. They will upload it to a Notability file and complete it in that file. I check and record homework weekly. Homework is due every Friday after we correct it in class. Students will upload their finished homework assignment on Friday in class after correcting. In case of a verified absence, it is the responsibility of the student to upload the homework on Friday and I will correct it.
Quizzes/Tests/Projects: Two 100 points tests will be given per chapter. Quizzes will be given as needed for test practice. Students with an excused absence on a test/quiz day should expect to take the test/quiz on the day they return to school. If students score below 70% for their chapter tests they can take the test and fix the problems that are incorrect and turn it in for an earned C.
