Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to the 2020–2021 school year! My name is Ms. Le Duff, and I am your child's Language Arts & History teacher and possible IEP case manager. I have been teaching here at Hutchinson for 10 years...how time flies! I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies and Master's Degree in the Science of Special Education at California State University at Long Beach (CSULB)... Go Beach! When I am not teaching, I love riding my bike near the beach, eating my way through new cities, working out, watching a great movie, hanging with family or friends, or picking up a good book to read! Also, I love eating donuts and Thai food! Lastly, I was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2015 & 2018!
My goal this year is to prepare our students for a smooth transition into 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. To teach this subject in the most engaging and effective way possible, a big emphasis must be put on student responsibility and organization. It is NOT the parent’s, guardian’s, or instructor’s responsibility to make sure the student comes to class prepared, completes all assignments, and reviews materials; it is the student’s responsibility. It is the responsibility of the student to keep track of all assignments, come to class on time (with the proper materials), and to complete all assignments. I do not give credit; it is earned by good organization and hard work.
I am sincerely committed to the academic development of young people and I expect them to give maximum effort to their performance. If you have any questions or concerns, I can be reached by email at [email protected]. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you and your child this year, and I hope the experience is a positive and memorable one!
For best means of communication, download and log-in to the Class Dojo App (I will be sending log-in information to students via Schoology, or you can email me and I will send you your personal log-in information.
...Just a few of my favorite things!
