Dear Students and Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

Welcome to 2018-19 School Year! I am your child’s 8th Grade Language Arts, Speech and Debate, and/or English Language Development teacher. I look forward to an exciting and productive year. I have been an educator since 1995 and I have  been employed by Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District since 2004.  I have served as an Instructional Coach and I have taught a variety of grade levels including fifth through ninth.

As a teacher, I believe that all students can learn and it is my job to ensure that all students are afforded multiple opportunities to learn and grow as students and as human beings.

My mission as an educator is to:

  • Empower my students to become active learners.
  • Develop skills as life-long learners, critical thinkers, and cooperative learners.
  • Challenge each student to reach his or her highest potential.
  • Encourage students to strive academically and behaviorally.
  • Be a conscious model of moral and ethical behavior.
  • Create a classroom with a positive and safe environment.
  • Respect each student as an individual.
  • Be fair and impartial when student behavior is in question.
  • Recognize self-discipline and good citizenship skills in my students and me.
